The 6 week mourning period is over. I had so much hope on May 22nd, and then it became a nightmare. Not only did my team not get one of the first 2 picks of the NBA Draft, but we got the WORST possible result.
I watched the lottery with my sister and bro-in-law in NYC. Everything was going according to order from pick #14 to #7. At that point, I was very optimistic. I started seeeing Oden and Durant in a Celtics uniform. Then pick #6 came. And it was Milwaukee. Then I knew something was wrong, because Milwaukee came out of order. And by the time I fully realized what was going on, out comes the Celtics logo for pick #5 -- the worst possible pick the Celtics could have gotten. I started to scream and I fell flat into the couch. I was devastated.
But now I have recovered. I am back to being optimistic. Celtics traded for Ray Allen on draft night. It has me cautiously excited about the team. I am encouraged to see that the Celtics are looking to build around Pierce and make a run at it. I still think we are 1-2 moves away from being a contender in the east, but I am excited.
The optimism is back. Summer league starts this Friday. But guess who we open up against? Portland and Greg Oden. UGH. Kick me while I'm down.
This NBA Playoffs Promo gives me chills.
I am fired up.
The Celtics end their season tonight. Ravaged with injuries, the Celtics had no chance to make the playoffs. The one silver lining in this lost season is that the young players got alot of experience and we have a 40% chance of getting a top 2 pick in the NBA Draft(with the prizes being Greg Oden and Kevin Durant).
Most Celtics fans are putting hopes in the May 22nd lottery as the chance to bring the team back to contention. However, I can't forget about what happened to the franchise exactly 10 years ago. Wehad had the best chance to land the #1 pick and Mr. Tim Duncan, who was going to be the savior. Never happened. We lost the lottery and Tim Duncan ended up winning 2 championships in San Antonio.
Sometimes things don't work out the way you want it to. The Celtics haven't won a championship since 1986, easily the longest drought in team history.
Is this finally the end of the losing era in Boston?
May 22nd. Pretty big day for me.
I am not a big Vince Carter fan. Sometimes I think he could have been alot better than what he is. It pains me to see players that
don't play up to their potential. I also hate players that quit on their teams (like what he did to the Toronto Raptors in 2004). However, after watching this video, I am stunned at how awesome he is. These are Carter's top 100 dunks and basically all of them are IN an actual game. You have to really appreciate how he can be so creative and effective at the same time. Its a pretty long video, but well worth it.
Notice how he spins for a 360 dunk in the reverse direction. It's pretty filthy, yet so pretty.
Someone linked me to this excellent xanga post.
Basically its advice for guys about trying to more than friends with a girl.
He made a sweet graph on the chances of you hooking with a girl based
on how long you have known her. I mostly agree with his theory,
although I think there needs to be another graph for long distance.
Long distance cannot be applied with this graph.
He has some good advice on there, except for his comparison to Disney characters. You do not learn anything about girls from Disney.
Nice one. You better hope none of those three get hurt though. Peace. read more
